                                                                    February 2012

We only had 18 members present at
this meeting.  I would love to see a better turn-out at
our next meeting.

A blood drive sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary will be held on February. 21st.  The ladies
are going to need help setting up (around 11:15 am) and taking down around 6:00 pm
when it ends.  If you can help it would be much appreciated.  Also if you are able to give
blood, please do so.

Please remember to bring a non-perishable item to the next meeting for the Erie Food
Closet.  Tom Merce has volunteered to take all items to the K of C Hall.

The annual Muskrat Dinner was a big success.  We had plenty of help and about 200
people.  I want to thank the committee people and all those that worked putting this event
on, including the Men’s and Ladies Auxiliaries.  We had four people from the Enlist program
at Monroe Bank and Trust.  A big thank you goes out to all who donated gifts for the silent
auction and the door prizes.

Chuck Bagwell and myself took scrap from the barn down to Omni Source.  Thanks for
your help Chuck.

Remember next month is the month we start nominations for offices in the Post.  It is very
important that you be here.  It seems there is going to be a lot of positions that are going
to have to be filled so don’t set back and let a few people do it all.  I ask that you step
forward and take a leadership position in your Post.
It takes all of us to make this Post the great Post that it is.

Remember membership is the future of the VFW as a whole as well as this Post.  Get the
word out to those that may be eligible.  We are always looking to increase our numbers.
